Hinck is the leading installer of submarine cables on Long Island having completed dozens of such installations over the past 30 years. One such installation pictured below shows a staging barge prepared and located to do the underwater installation of 5 reels of 2000 MCM positive cables on one side of the LIRR's Wreck Lead Bridge. This Project involved replacing a total of 12 reels of 2000 MCM traction power submarine cables as well as 2 reels of 37/C#14 Control submarine cable directly for the LIRR and as can be seen had to be done while keeping the existing LIRR drawbridge operational. This job was successfully completed in December 2008.
